I'm listening to sad Chinese mp3 songs; their plaintive melody, the low moaned questions, the minor keys all conspire to weigh me down, pull me into the abyss of melancholy. And I let those notes carry me where they will, because I am not so far gone as to not be able to derive some breathless pleasure from the pathos that calls back my wandering, errant muse and prevails upon her to write me the prettiest tripe.

Dang, I have the world's most crazy mood swings. This entry started out contemplative, but even as I was typing out the sentences above, I'm already back in that cheery holiday spirit. And absolutely lovin' it.

I'm trapped between ennui and a giddy holiday high. Then I read Pratchett, or Wodehouse, and find myself firmly stuck in high gear. Fun stuff. ^_^
